Alicia Keys goes Natural

ALICIA KEYS.............NATURAL!!!!

NATURAL doesn't only have to be about the hair!!!

For ALICIA KEYS it's also about the makeup.

Earlier this year 2016, Alicia Keys made a decision to stop wearing makeup. She stressed on the fact that women tend to do soooo much to try to be perfect, not for themselves most of the time, but to please others..........to fit in!!!!

Alicia said it felt "really empowering" and "really freeing"!!!

She says " I think it came from because we put so many limitations on ourselves.......we put limitations on each other.....society puts limitations on us.....and in a lot of ways I am sick of it. Over it, to be honest."

It would be so amazing to embrace each other as we are, and to do what feels good to you.

I don't want to cover up anymore, she says, not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth, Nothing!!

She decided to be FREE!!! NATURAL!!! No Cover Up!!!

WITHOUT MAKE UP

VS

WITH MAKE-UP

Give me your thoughts on Alicia Keys decision.
  • Did her decision make sense?
  • Was it too drastic?
  • Is it worth it?
  • Which picture do you prefer?

  1. I prefer the make up picture it makes her look more "finished" but its all about her personal preference its her face as well she has flawless skin .shes looks beautiful both with and without makeup .

  3. Alicia Keys is very pretty so she can rock the no make-up and get away with it, not sure if some of the other stars can do that!!!!

  4. I believe it's about personal preference. Make up could be a reason to make the individual smile or hide a scar and it could also be used to fit in. There are so many reasons so hence it's a personal preference

  5. It's definitely worth it because it sends such a positive message. You're beautiful in your own skin. I don't think it was an anti makeup ploy, simply a message to girls and women out there to not measure beauty by society's beauty standards.

  6. To each his own. If she wakes up in the morning and what she sees makes her happy all the best to her.

At the end of the day she is an entertainer and she can use her platform for whatever she wants. The point of the matter is live beauty by your standards; natural hair, fake eyelashes, weave, braids... not one is more beautiful than the other, beauty is relative. The look for her job is not my cup of tea but if its hers, drink up Alicia.

  7. Makeup enhances women facial features. However, some women tend to over do it. It's all about knowing when to apply a little more or less or even none at all. At the end of the day it's a matter of personal preference.

  8. whatever makes her happy. I perfer without make up! Loving yourself as is we as women need to come in acceptance with our natural self (which is treding) but a little enhance of make up (not much, won't hurt).

  11. Brave and smart move. Maybe younger ladies will pick up this new "trend" and stop thinking they are not beautiful without makeup.

  12. To each his own yes but I must admit the reason she gave was honorable as I am all for young women valuing themselves and loving self.

  14. I personally believe that there's no wrong choice with regards to this decision as it is indeed a personal choice. If it works for her at this point in her life as she no longer has issues with her skin like acne etc.... then good for her, but there are people who have issues with their skin such as acne, skin blemishes, birthmarks and scars and wearing makeup helps with self confidence. I strongly think that people who wear makeup shouldn't feel bad for wearing it and people who don't wear makeup shouldn't put pressure on or try to make people who wear makeup feel bad about doing so as it is a personal choice. Personally, I wear makeup and I'm comfortable in my own skin as my validation doesn't come from wearing makeup but in knowing that I'm a child of God and also my belief in what he says about me that I'm unique, special, fearfully and wonderfully made. I believe this should be the main focus, not society's definition of beauty but God's and also raising our children (boys and girls) to know that beauty comes in different packages and in the process also cultivating their inner beauty.

  15. As an entertainer, I can see value in Alicia's decision to go without makeup since so many women look up to these entertainers as having perfect skin, perfect hair, perfect everything, when in fact what we see of so many of them is not real. So, I think it is a good stance to take. Hopefully, young girls can see this and realise that it's okay to be comfortable in your their own skin.
